I attended a quilt show in Lafayette last week and bought some flannel for donation quilts at 2.00 per yard. I was thinking of the trip around the world quilt I made earlier this year. I didn't take any quilt pictures. oh well

We traveled to Pendleton Indiana for a lovely quilt show. It was held in the county historical museum. Behind the beautiful quilts, was all the historical museum pieces which was an interesting bonus. I did add a few fabric pieces to my stash from their fabric sales. haha

stash report August 27, 2023 from Making A Lather

I had a finish this week which makes me happy, and, helps with the yearly stash numbers.

At open sew, yesterday, someone, surprised me with a quilt top that she had made with fabric that I had donated last month. First of all, the turnaround time was impressive, and, the fact, that she knew it was my fabric donation. It makes it much easier to let go of my precious fabric knowing someone will enjoy it. She has plans to add a border, too, from some of it.

I am working on an older ufo called spoolin around. I found the pink I wanted for the setting triangles in my stash, but, I couldn't find a green I like with it for the border. I went through everything on the shelves. anything, I liked I did not have a large enough piece. I have a million yards of fabric, how could I not have what I needed? I checked my back up storage, ahem, yes it is a real thing. Still nothing. I even tried to change colors. So, I repeated the process with blues. I had ...

I didn't buy any new fabric this week. I did find a pile of leftover fabric from my Kristal quilt, and thought I should decide what to do with it, since, I didn't want to put it away. haha

I think I want to make the cover quilt in the bright colors. It is a stack and whack and should be fun. Now I can put the fabric away in a nice box with a book to read until I can get to them.

I added a bright yellow and clear blue to the stash. I don't really need 2 yards of each, but, missourri star is selling 2 yard or 3 yard cuts, and I like the colors and the price, so, I have more than I need, but, there are worse problems.

my creative week from Not Afraid of Color

this was a week of sewing, writing, and watching video lessons... with one drawing

hand sewing hexies, tiny quiltlets from scraps, and one drawing

the sewing primarily was "middle sewing"  involving a lot of putting blocks together, basting a quilt, finding appropriate fabrics, making design decision that take time but don't show well in a round up.

I now have completed the squares for two RSC block sets made last year... I added an entire row of black and white squares to go with the colorful scrap blocks done last year, but like the first set I'm reluctant ...

Yesterday was sew day at the library for our guild. I enjoyed spending the day talking and sewing. I did come home with some scrappy pieces on the free table. And I won the drawing for a fat quarter. I tried to resist....

On the left is my prize fat quarter. I am not sure why I grabbed the bright green piece, but it is nice and bright. I have a weakness for floral that I hope to do a floral quilt someday. And, 2 different quilters brought me their waste triangles. One time, I pulled a triangle from the ...

I am sorting through blue strip bags looking for aqua/teal for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy. I have them all mixed together. Someday, I will have a bag for each...maybe.

My last stash report was Jan 23.At the time I was worried about the guild meeting.  Next week will be a challenge. We will have our guild meeting and there might be a free table. what will I do? Covid took care of that problem - So I haven't added any fabric to my stash this year so far.

stash january 23 2022 from Making A Lather

This week I worked on the last of the scraps from the  scrap bucket I am trying to tame. These scraps weighed  6 ounces which is almost a yard of fabric. I cut some 3 1/2 inches, then 2 1/2, 2, 1 1/2 and the rest went into a chunks bucket. It has helped to keep me from buying more of anything. Next week will be a challenge. We will have our guild meeting and there might be a free table. what will I do?
